The Tampa Bay food scene is broadening its reach, with festival programming expanding to Clearwater and the wider beach communities alongside a spread of interactive, late-night, and competitive events.
30 October 2026
The Tampa Bay Wine & Food Festival, now in its fourth year, is scheduled for April 7–11, 2026 at various locations. The five-day event will take place at its regular venues, but this year the program adds three new experiences to the lineup. Organizers describe the 2026 festival as having an "even larger footprint" and being "more immersive."
The new events include Rock the Range, Milagro Tequila Bartender Showdown, and Chefs After Dark Party, featuring competitions, mixology battles and late-night socializing. The VIP Chef Showdown will be held at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, 600 N. Ashley Dr., Tampa, FL, with the Grand Tasting serving as the festival’s closing event at the same location.
The festival’s expansion coincides with growing beachside culinary events in early October. Taste of the Beaches, one of the area’s premier coastal food festivals, now begins with a complimentary opening night celebration. This year's kickoff will run from 6 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 2 at Horan Park in St. Pete Beach — serving as both an introduction to the festival and launch point for the nine-day coastal culinary event. The festival will feature more than 45 restaurants from Tierra Verde to Clearwater Beach during October 3-11, highlighting the Beach Communities Chefs’ Signature Dish. The Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce produces Taste of the Beaches annually.
Regional culinary expansion
These developments reflect a wider regional presence, with organizers incorporating more evening events and interactive programming.
The trend appears in competition events too: The Florida Seafood Festival's oyster shucking contest, for instance, now includes international competitions, showcasing Apalachicola Bay Oysters. The judging process often takes longer than the contest itself, demonstrating the rapid pace of shelling. Speed alone no longer drives attendance — audience engagement elements now energize these social gatherings.
The new Tampa events and coastal additions indicate the festival calendar is evolving, connecting culinary scenes across the region while catering to nighttime dining preferences.
