I am so glad to back in the swing of things with my weekly wing posts. For as long as I can remember, wings have been one of my favorite dishes and I love them with all types of sauces from traditional Buffalo to unique flavor combinations. With so many great wing places in Tampa Bay, I never have a hard time deciding where to get wings. Lately I have been super busy with work and sticking to places within a 2 mile radius of my house. Several months ago, one of my favorite places to get mac and cheese moved from a stationary food truck to a brick and mortar location on Gandy. I am sure many of you have heard of The Smoke Shack which is known for their smoked meats and signature array of sauces. Since relocating to 3324 W. Gandy Blvd. between Bay to Bay and Himes, I have only made it by once for wings and their addicting mac and cheese.
Smoked and served naked, their wings are tasty without sauce but if you like to add some additional flavor you can choose from their sauces which include Kansas City (Sweet & Mild), Carolina (Vinegar), Citrus Chipotle (Pepper & Lime) and Texas Mustard (Sweet Mustard). I, of course, tried all of them and my favorite was the Citrus Chipotle. While their wings are no-fuss and simple, I really enjoyed them and would go back in a New York minute for more.[?]
