On the NFL kick-off eve, all I can think about are football Sundays spent with the Pittsburgh Steelers and chicken wings. I mean, what is better than football, a cold beverage and crispy, fried wings tossed in your favorite sauce? Other than winning the lottery, I don’t think anything can quite compare. As many of you know, I am a die-hard Steelers fan and have been looking for my special place in Tampa Bay that caters to fans of the six-time Super Bowl Champs. When I learned that Three Birds Tavern in St. Pete was a Steelers friendly place, I was intrigued and anxious to stop by and check out their menu.
I finally made it to Three Birds back in May after trying to get there for the past three years. While it was still a good four months prior to football season, I could not help but order some wings. With choices such as Asian BBQ, Carrot Ginger, Garlic Parmesan, Medium, Mild, Hot or naked, I went with their Carrot Ginger and savored every bite.
Fried to perfection and sauced to my liking, I was more than pleased with the wings at Three Birds, All that was missing was the game and an ice cold beer. Since my kids were with me and we were heading back home to tackle weekend chores, I was unable to indulge with an adult beverage.
I look forward to my boys taking home number seven this season and can’t wait to cheer them on from Three Birds Tavern. I already made a date for September 18th and am looking forward to some wings and other yummy things.[?]
