My kids are huge fans of Westshore Pizza and eat there often with their dad. Although there are two locations close to my house, I have not been there in about three years. Today was the day and we stopped in at the location on Bay Court and Westshore in South Tampa for a quick bite after a parent-teacher conference. Not quite in the mood for pizza, I opted for chicken wings since it was, in fact, Wingsday. With sauce choices of mild, medium, hot or BBQ, I ordered 6 hot with a side of blue cheese. The cashier suggested getting a combo since it was a better deal and came with fries and a soda. Sold.
The wings arrived piping hot and had decent flavor. Although not as spicy as I would have hoped for, they were better than I expected. The only drawback was the blue cheese dressing which comes pre-packaged. I am a blue cheese connoisseur and detest packaged dressings. Nothing against Westshore, but I prefer blue cheese made from scratch. My kids gobbled up the fries since I am trying my best to save my carb intake for the weekend.
All in all, the wings were good and I would order them again on a future visit. Westshore Pizza is ideal for a casual family night out and their staff has always been very friendly. With a decent draft beer selection that includes Fat Tire, Westshore is a great place to catch a game or enjoy beer and pizza with friends.
