As I sit here at IFBC Seattle, I am thinking about the last time I was in this gorgeous city. The year was 1994 and I was a young girl of 19. Fast forward 19 years later and I am sitting here in the gorgeous W Hotel enjoying my second IFBC Food Conference. So far, so good. We are kicking off the conference with a live blogging event by Amazon Grocery and will be tasting lots of goodies. I have never done a live blogging session so this will be fun.
First up is a Summer Strawberry all-natural fruit strip by Stretch Island which was founded in 1976 in a laundry room on Stretch Island, Washington. Made with real fruit and packed with juicy strawberry flavor, I devoured my leather fruit strip in about two seconds. I must say, it made me feel like a kids again and will definitely be getting some of these for my bambinos when I return home.
Nothing makes me happier than chocolate, especially if it is from Lindt. Classic and always delicious, Lindt is one of my top choices when it comes to chocolate. This is really hitting the spot and I just might have to ask for another. 😉
Annie’s line of products has long been a favorite of my household. I devoured these Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks about as fast as my son normally does. This was my first time trying these and now I see why my kids love them so much. Made without artificial flavors, preservatives or synthetic colors, these made a great snack for both kids and adults.
Oh wow, next I am diving into a bag of Maple Pecans by Sahale Snacks. Made with walnuts, pecans, cherries and real cinnamon, this bag of goodies is really rocking my world. Sweet and salty, these are ideal for a mid-afternoon snack or late night munchies sprinkled over luscious vanilla ice cream.
BumbleBar rocks! Based in Spokane, Washington (where my mom lives), they are a certified organic gluten free energy bar company with ethical roots. I tried both their JunoBar Peanut Butter Cookie and JunoBar Apple Crisp and they were fantastic. My favorite was the Apple Crisp, as it was like taking a bite of a freshly baked apple dessert. With fall inspired flavors of cinnamon apple crisp, vanilla and honey, it was simply divine.
Nothing gets me excited like chocolate and I am ecstatic to discover the line of products from Brookside Chocolatiers. Today I am sampling Dark Chocolate Acai with Blueberry and each piece tastes like a plump, sweet blueberry that was dipped in fresh chocolate. As you bite into these little pieces of heaven, you will taste the fresh blueberry that blends beautifully with the sweet and bitter dark chocolate.
They had me at Dragon Fruit! Navitas Naturals are organic, raw dragonfruit slices that are not only sweet on the palate, they are a superfood. Sourced from the tropics of Thailand, this variety of dragonfruit is of the sweeter red variety and tastes like tropical paradise in your mouth.
Honey has been one of my latest obsessions and I enjoy all types. I just tried Manuka Doctor Bio Active Manuka Honey which is made in New Zealand. Sweet and loaded with nutrients, I think I just found a new favorite.
No trip to the local market is possible without picking up several packets of squeezable fruit packets. My daughter loves them and I just tasted one that I know my little sweetie will enjoy. Made by Happy Family, the Apple, Mango, Pear & Kale is fantastic. I love the fact that it has kale in it which is one of my favorite superfoods.
YumEarth Organics, I love you. These are some of the best fruit snacks I have ever tried. Made with real fruit juice and proving 100% of the daily recommended amount of Vitamin C, these are going to be a staple in my house. I can’t wait for my kids to try them.
I will never forget the first time I tried Scharffenberger a few years ago. Love at first bite, they are my favorite brand of chocolate to bake with. I am restraining myself from ripping open this luscious piece of cacao bliss but will be enjoying it later with a glass of wine.
I am a beverage freak and just tried Bai5 for the first time. Bai is a line of 5-Calorie Antioxidant Infusions that are 100% natural, gluten-free and made with only 1g of sugar. Their Sumatra Dragonfruit is fantastic and I can’t wait to order some when I return to Tampa.
Ginger Beer is one of my favorite cocktail mixers and Fever-Tree is one of my preferred brands. Crisp and clean with a nice, clean flavor, I always have this on hand my making a Dark n’ Stormy.
Drink Chia caught my eye a few months ago when they began following me on twitter. Based in Florida, they are Omega-3 Superfood drinks infused with organic chia seeds. I am a devout believer in the power of chia seeds and was excited to try their drinks. Just as expected, I was impressed with the flavor and can’t wait to stock up when I return home.
Last but not least, I was able ton finally taste Suja Juice which has been on my wish list for quite sometime. Suja is a line of cold pressed organic juices that are 100% USDA Certified Organic and non-GMO. I have always wanted to do a juice cleanse and they are giving all of us a 3-day cleanse. I will need it after this trip. 🙂
I have lots more delicious stuff coming from the Emerald City so stay tuned!
