Zabaglione with Fresh Berries #SundaySupper

#SundaySupper, Desserts, Italian

Happy Father’s Day! For today’s Sunday Supper, I wanted to share a recipe that not only reminds me of my father, it is perfect for summer. Zabaglione is an Italian custard that goes great with fresh berries and is a great accompaniment  for Father’s Day dinner. I love making this because not only is it easy, it is light, refreshing and a sweet ending to any meal. Living in Florida, I always have plenty of fresh blueberries and strawberries on hand and this is one of my favorite ways to enjoy them.

When I was very young, I remember the first time I saw this dessert. My dad was hosting a dinner party and the scent of the zabaglione was drawing me to the kitchen. My dad let me have a small taste but that was all since this dessert is made with Marsala wine. As I got older, I learned how to make this and it is one of my favorite go-to desserts. If you are preparing a big meal, this is ideal because it is easy and goes well with so many dishes. As a busy mom, easy desserts are what I prefer and your guests will love it. Zabaglione can be made ahead of time and chilled in the refrigerator prior to serving.

Cheers to all of those wonderful dads out there! I hope you all have a wonderful Father’s Day!
