Happy Monday! I can’t think of a better way to kick off the week than by sharing my love of a delicious product that is made right here in Tampa. Now, I must say, before I tasted this product, I was intrigued by the name, which is Tree Dog Salsa. My nick-name back home is “Tray-Dawg” which was given to me by my dear friend, Karlene. Now, Karlene is from Brooklyn, so to get it right you have to say it with a Brooklyn accent. 😉 Anyway, Tree Dog is so close to Tray Dawg, how could I not want to try this product?
I first tasted Tree Dog Salsa at EATS! American Grill last year. I love all things spicy and salsa is one of my favorite toppings for chicken and fish. What makes their salsa so unique, is that they “go out on a limb” for flavor and use nothing but locally fresh produce in their salsa. With flavors ranging from “mild to wild” and “tangy to hot,” you are sure to find something to suit your palate.
Available in four flavors: Tree-Ditional, Mad Sweet Onion, Haba Haba and #777, Tree Dog Salsas will be sure to spicy up your next dish. Guacamole is one of my favorite things on the planet and they have a recipe which uses their Tree-Ditional Salsa, and let me just say, it will knock your sombrero off. Perfect for tailgating, this will be a hit at your next get together.
Another favorite of mine is their Mad Sweet Onion which is made with a white and yellow onion combination, an overall mad sweetness and a little heat! This one will really knock your sombrero off! Try this over chicken or make a salsa bruschetta. The possibilities are endless.
You can find founders Donna and Tree Dog at many of the local markets in 2013. To see their event schedule, be sure to visit their web-site by clicking here.
In honor of my #31DaysOfLove, I am giving away a jar of Tree Dog Salsa. To enter to win, simply comment on this post and tell me why you want a jar of their salsa. For an additional entry, be sure to give their Facebook page a “like” by clicking here and leave a comment on their wall. I will pick a winner on Monday, December 16th. If you want to try some of their salsa right away, stop by EATS! American Grill and create your own burger or add some to their grilled chicken.
Have a wonderful week and remember to shop local this holiday season. Cheers!
