These Wings Rock Me Like a Hurricane

Sports Bars, Westshore, Wings, Wingsday

Happy Wingsday!  With football season quickly approaching I am very excited about all the places where I can go watch my Steelers and devour some good wings. So far, I have featured four places and I have many more to go. In the next two months I will be heading to places in St. Pete, New Tampa, Brandon, Clearwater and all places in between.  🙂

A few weeks ago I stopped by Hurricane Grill and Wings located at 1200 N Westshore Blvd in Tampa to try some one of their over thirty flavors of wing sauces.  I  have never actually eaten inside the restaurant and this was my second time ordering take-out. As I browsed the menu I was delighted with their vast variety of wing sauce flavors.  I felt like I was in a shoe store….so many choices and I wanted them all. 🙂

After about five minutes of trying to decide, I went with their Maple Pepper Glaze which is a sweet blend of Vermont maple syrup and cracked pepper.  I placed my order and then sat on the patio and had an iced tea while my wings were being prepared.  I chatted with a few guests and everyone I spoke to raved about the wings. A few even offered me samples of their wings so I could try different types but I politely declined.  🙂  The hostess brought my order and I headed back to the office to dig into my wings.

As I opened my box of wings, steam oozed out of the box and the scent of warm maple syrup surrounded my cubicle. Gorgeous in color and jumbo in size, my wings looked amazing! The flavor of the Maple Pepper Glaze was savory with a mild kick and I never even used the blue cheese that came with the wings. I rarely can finish an order of wings but these were so delicious that I managed to eat all ten of them. Impressive and delicious, these wings really rocked my world.  You can also order their wings boneless, which is a nice option. Here are their sauce selections:

  • If you’re a fire-eater in your spare time, this one’s for you!

In addition to wings, Hurricane Grill has a nice variety on their menu with selections such as salads, sandwiches, wraps, sliders, burgers, grilled chicken, steaks and more.  Conveniently located near the corner of Westshore and Cypress, they are close to both Westshore Mall and International Plaza as well as the airport.  I can’t wait to go back and try some of their signature cocktails. I will be going back soon to try some more of their sauces.

Until next Wingsday, have a scrumptious week!

Hurricane is originally from Ft. Pierce which is where my family is from – I’m excited to see that there is a location on this side of the state!
